The Xtreme Upgrade kit is a complete hardware and software solution which enables users to upgrade their hard drive utilizing the latest hard drive technology. The kit comes with everything you’ll need to quickly transfer all files, e-mail settings, applications and the operating system from the hard drive in your notebook to the new xtreme hard drive.
Apricorn's 7200 RPM Xtreme Drive is the fastest available hard drive for notebook computers. Xtreme Drives have a 70% faster spindle speed and a 400% larger cache over 4200 RPM drives. This drive can improve overall system performance by 30%, providing desktop performance in a notebook computer.
Once the new drive is installed in the notebook, the old drive can be redeployed in the Xtreme Upgrade’s Hi-Speed USB 2.0 enclosure for either external storage or backup.
The kit comes bundled with a 7200 RPM hard drive, Apricorn's Upgrade Suite CD containing Apricorn’s EZ Gig II Cloning and Imaging software for Windows and ShirtPocket SuperDuper! Cloning software for Mac, a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 had drive enclosure, (USB 1.1 compatible) 1 meter USB cable, and an AC power adapter, if additional power is needed.

EZ Gig II Upgrade & Backup software gives you two options to upgrade or backup your data.
The Clone option creates an exact clone of a hard drive and is perfect for upgrading hard drives, or for a creating a Disaster Recovery clone - the ultimate backup solution.
The Image option is the ideal backup tool. EZ Gig II creates a compressed “image” of an entire hard drive, or an individual partition of a hard drive. At its maximum setting, the Image option can compress data to less than 1/2 its original size, allowing backups to be made to a smaller hard drive, or multiple backups to a large hard drive.
EZ Gig II also provides password protection for backup images, a comments field so each image can be labeled and easily identified, and verification that the image is complete.
