Broadband VPN / NAT Router D-Link is introducing the new Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) enabled D-Link DI-804V Virtual Private Network (VPN) Router, which provides secure off-site access to information.

An ideal solution for linking two or more remote networks, the D-Link DI-804V is a powerful VPN router with four (4) auto-negotiating 10/100 Ethernet ports, Network Address Translation (NAT) and an integrated Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server that permits users to create up to eight (8) IP Security (IPSec) VPN tunnels.

As the inexpensive yet secure alternative to point-to-point leased lines, a VPN tunnel connects separate networks in multiple locations enabling the creation of one seamless network. VPN tunnels combined with the high-strength Triple Data Encryption Standard (3DES) encryption and Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) features of the DI-804V provide the security required when transferring sensitive data over the Internet.

A web-based configuration utility allows for easy setup and provides an OS independent platform for setup and management of the D-Link DI-804V from any PC connected to the network. Additionally, the UPnP support lets computers running Windows ME or Windows XP automatically recognize, setup and configure the VPN Router for opening and closing ports necessary for full functionality in programs such as NetMeeting without compromising security.
