The Lind DC-DC adapter for the Dell laptop models listed above will operate the laptop but will not recharge the battery. Dell has installed a proprietary communications chip in their AC adapter that handshakes with the laptop. If the laptop does not comunicate with this chip, it will not allow battery charge.
