20xDVD, Plastic, White
So, there’s a little computer company based in Cupertino, California that’s had a big affect on the way color, shape and style has been used in technology. Whether it was incorporating color to do away with boring beige, or going white when everybody else was going black, consumers have responded. Of course they also did a few other things right, like the first large scale site to legally download music and an MP3 player so technical it hardly seems technical at all. Whether you love them or hate them, Apple starts trends.
And we’re not ashamed to say we’re following this one. The Cupertino DVD Album borrows from the slick iPod look: the under-side painted plastic, the shiny outer shell and the shiny silver accent.
Now that you can get an iPod that’ll play video, pretty soon you’ll be able to drop full DVD movies onto your computer and then your iPod. Then, you won’t need you DVDs around so much. But fear not. The Cupertino DVD Album sort of works like a metaphor: you know, all of your movies inside what sort of looks like an iPod. It’ll keep your movie discs safe for later viewing in your home theatre room.
