Panasonic (Matshita) UJ-846 slim dual layer Superdrive This is a used part from a recycled computer. In the case of a functional part, it has been fully tested prior to putting in stock and is guaranteed to be fully functional.

Apple branded OEM Panasonic (Matsushita) UJ-846 slimline, slot loading multi DVD single and dual layer burner. This drive can be used in the 12" & 14" iBook G4, Titanium (replacement brackets & cable may be required for earlier Titanium models), Aluminium 12", 15" & 17" PowerBooks, iMac G5, Mac Mini and in the MacBook Pro 17". Because this drive is a direct manufacturers replacement for the earlier Matsushita drives Apple fitted in these laptops, the original optical bezels will fit these new drives.
This drive is not suitable for the 13" MacBook or 15" MacBook Pro as these laptops use a thinner format drive (UJ-857).

This drive can be used with OSX 10.2 or higher in conjunction with disk burning software such as Toast. Disk buring is directly supported within OSX 10.4.8 or later. There is no manual, software or mounting hardware included.
