New, Apple branded Sony NEC Optiarc AD-5630A internal 12.5mm slot loading PATA superdrive. This drive is suitable for use in any Aluminium PowerBook G4, MacBook Pro 17" and any Intel iMac originally fitted with a Sony NEC drive. It is also used in the MacBook Air external optical unit. Although the drive is electrically compatible with drives used in the iBook G4, Titanium PowerBook and iMac G5 range, these computers use bezels that clip onto the front of the drive mechanism and the mount points for these are not industry standard and so vary between manufacturers. Since Apple did not use Sony drives in any of these ranges, the bezels will not fit without modification.
