Lid catch and button assembly for the 1.83GHz, 2GHz and 2.16GHz Core Duo, and the 2.16GHz and 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo models of the 15" MacBook Pro. This is the complete assembly containing the lid release button, sleep light board and cable, lid catch, spring & magnets. Does NOT include the lid hook which is located within the MacBook Pro lid. This assembly is fixed inside the MacBook Pro bottom case with strong, double-sided adhesive tape. The replacement will need to be bonded in place with adhesive.
The catch that holds the lid hooks is brittle and can snap leaving the laptop with a lid that won't stay shut. This replacement catch is the part to fix this problem.
