With the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1160 International AVM is adding a new device compliant with the Wireless AC standard to the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater series. The new FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1160 makes transmission rates of up to 866 Mbit/s possible and uses both wireless frequency bands concurrently. Thanks to the latest methods for maximizing ranges and throughput and compatibility with all common wireless standards, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1160 can be used to realize even the most demanding wireless scenarios.
Ultra fast with Wireless AC + N
The FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1160 deploys 2 x 2 MIMO multi-antenna technology and dual-band wireless LAN to transmit concurrently in the 2.4-GHz band (up to 300 Mbit/s) and the 5-GHz band (up to 866 Mbit/s). Thanks to dual-band wireless LAN, for instance on the latest FRITZ!Box 7490, both radio bands can be used in parallel to expand the wireless home network. Through automatic band selection (dynamic cross band repeating) the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1160 always chooses the fastest and most efficient path to and from the wireless router, so that all wireless devices in the network can benefit from higher transmission rates.
More range and better coverage
Thanks to deployment of multi-antenna technology and the use of the latest technology for optimizing range and throughput, the range and data rate are clearly higher than those of previous solutions based on Wireless N. Where structural conditions or long distances restricted the radio connection, it is now possible to realize multiple demanding applications wirelessly anywhere in the home, even in concurrent operation. The repeater supports the wireless standards 11ac/n/g/b/a, making it compatible with all common wireless routers.
Maximum wireless security and easy installation
Maximum security for your private sphere is ensured by the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1160’s support of the latest encryption methods (WPA2). Information on the operating status can be read directly on the device from the LED display, which also shows the radio signal strength, allowing the optimum position for the repeater to be determined. With Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) the repeater is installed at the click of a button and integrated into the wireless home network within seconds.
