The iMediaChassis series is an intelligent, managed carrier-grade optical access platform that supports Ethernet,T1/E1, DS3/E3 and WDM networking technologies.
The iMediaChassis series enables network campus operators and service providers to reduce the capital and operational expenses by providing all copper-to-fiber and multi-mode to single-mode conversions, network distance extensions and Transparent LAN services from the same chassis platform.
Installed at the Central Office or the Point-of-Presence, the iMediaChassis supports carrier requirements for the Operations, Administration, Maintenance and Provisioning of fiber-based Ethernet / ATM services.
When populated with the optional SNMP management module, operators receive real-time operational and status information on the chassis and the installed fiber media modules by using the free iView² SNMP software, or other popular network management software applications such as HP OpenView. Via the iView² graphical user interface, operators can monitor the installed media modules, and quickly make adjustments to customer link settings from a central location.
The iMediaChassis series also supports the Unified Management Agent (UMA); UMA allows you to manage all installed devices, including those with on-board intelligence such as FiberLinX, with a single IP address and from a central location.
