Peak tracks your heart rate with an advanced, wrist-based optical blood flow engine.
This engine shines light into your bloodstream just below the skin’s surface and then measures the reflection with a sophisticated optical sensor.
As your heart beats, your blood ebbs and flows, changing the amount of reflected light.
Unique algorithms translate the data gathered from the reflected light into a continuous measure of your heart rate.
The result? A deeper understanding of your fitness, activity and sleep—no chest strap needed.

It not only provides heart rate so you can understand your exertion level, it uses your heart rate with a multi-sensor approach to better calculate your calories burned.
With Peak’s Body IQ technology, you automatically get a real-time comprehensive picture of your walks, runs and rides—including heart rate, activity duration, and steps.
However, Peak may not be a solution for everyone. Wrist-based heart rate monitors are not optimal for activities with lots of wrist flexion, like weightlifting or tennis. Peak is also not optimized for high-intensity interval workouts, or swimming.
