SmartNode 485, Standalone All the benefits of multidrop RS-485 with RS-232 devices.

The SmartNode 485 enables you to address an RS-232 printer, terminal, scales, lathe, reader, or other device as an intelligent RS-485 peripheral for use in industrial serial applications.

The SmartNode 485 responds to address polls, holds information until send time, and even converts data rates and word structures.

Each port can be set for different speeds and word structures. Two-wire RS-485 support is included with the product.

Standalone and card versions are available. For the card version, you'll need a 12-Card Rack (see "Related Products" in the previous screen to order).

In applications where you require external conversion, add our optional RS-232RS-485/422 Converter Plus (IC108A or IC109A-R3). And if you're at your distance limit, specify RS-485 Repeaters (IC155A or IC158A).
