The Aquaris X5 started off as an outline that challenged the limits of our of design standards. Straight lines and curves have been combined to enhance the properties of a new material: metal. The final result is a smartphone with a light and ultra-thin aluminium body. It is radically different, but faithful to the principles of BQ. To achieve this, we have made use of pioneering manufacturing techniques such as injection moulding, die casting and nano moulding technology (NMT).

<b>Near impossible thickness.</b>

We wanted the Aquaris X5 to stand out, not only just for its design but also in terms of battery autonomy - a signature feature of BQ devices. One of the greatest challenges in mechanical design was fitting a 2900 mAh LiPo battery into a device weighing just 148 g, with only 7.5 mm thickness. We were able to achieve this by carefully selecting the components and distributing them layer by layer with meticulous precision - to the millimetre.

<b>The devil is in the detail.</b>

The Aquaris X5 is bursting with details and features that meet both the aesthetic and functional demands. Take the curved laterals, for example, which enhance the ergonomics of the device, as well as emphasizing the sheen of the metal. Or the aluminium frame which, in addition to forming part of the antenna, also provides a subtle elegant finish.

<b>Style and resistance can go hand in hand.</b>

The Aquaris X5 will be available in a choice of three colour combinations so that you can select the one that best suits you. This variety of colours was made possible by anodisation, a process which protects and reinforces the metal with a durable and even coating. What´s more, to increase the anti-scratch resistance of the Aquaris X5 even further, the aluminium has been double-anodised.

<b>Commitment to quality in both cameras.</b>

The 13 Mpx rear camera of the Aquaris X5, is equipped with a Sony IMX214 sensor to enable you to take sharper pictures with greater detail, in addition to 5 lenses, double flash, autofocus and a focal aperture of f/2.0. The 5 Mpx front camera has 4 lenses, flash and focal aperture of f/2.0. Both of the cameras record in Full HD.

<b>A step further with the sound box.</b>

The sound box consists of a resonance chamber and speaker which modulates the audio output of your smartphone. Integrating this component into a mobile as thin as the Aquaris X5 meant every detail had to be carefully reconsidered, even the design of the speaker grill, in order to achieve spectacular audio quality.

<b>Breakdown the barrier of stereo sound.</b>

Dolby Atmos 3D audio technology ensures that multimedia content will come to life all around you. The Dolby algorithms process the audio signal so that when you listen to music or watch movies, you get the sensation of being surrounded by multiple sources of sound. This results in a three-dimensional surround sound effect that transports you right into the action. Only available with the Android version.

<b>You take the lead. Android Lollipop 5.1 will follow.</b>

The all-new Android Lollipop interface brings you an ultra-intuitive user experience. You can manage and customise your notifications and even view them with the screen locked. It comes with new security features, such as Smart Lock mode. What´s more, "Google Now" has been fully integrated and you can enable it using the "OK Google" voice command, even when the screen is locked.

For this very reason, we bring you the Aquaris X5 in two options: Android or Cyanogen OS. We have redesigned the capacitive buttons of the Aquaris X5 to give them our own personal touch. The central button is made up of the five points of the BQ logo. Simultaneously, it represents the fingertips of the human hand, which is our main creative tool and the part that technology physically touches.

The new modes also enable you to record videos in slow motion up to 120 fps, captures images with time lapse and record videos in black and white or using fixed flash.
