It performs all the functions of a full-size tester-- detecting shorts, opens, crossed pairs, reversed pairs, and split pairs, BUT it's just 5 inches long and 1 inch wide, fitting inside your shirt pocket! SMARTestÆs two-button operation makes it very easy to use.

A built-in remote unit tests cables both before and after installation, and a built-in tone generator (probe not included) can be used with a standard probe to trace wires to their source.

This tester detects split pair faults with just a minimum cable length of 40 cm, provides verification of shield integrity, and tests cable installations up to 200 meters (656 feet). No adapters are needed; includes an easy-to-read fault display for high speed testing, and a low battery indicator.
