The CSC-2D9-M1, CSC-2D9-M2, CSC-2D9-S1, CSC-2D9-S2 are Canary's value-priced media converters designed specifically for linking RS-232 devices over multi-mode and single-mode fiber cable. They allow the direct connection of serial devices over long distances using reliable, low EMI, fiber links while supporting data rates up to 120Kbps to host computers. This makes them applicable for environments employing industrial sensors and process control; remote sensing and surveillance; and other remote access applications using RS-232 connectors.
CSC-2D9-M1, CSC-2D9-M2 (multi-mode) and CSC-2D9-S1, CSC-2D9-S2 (single-mode) media converters are solid solutions for applications that require a reliable link to remote terminals or host computers. Each unit offers cost-efficient extension of multi-mode distances ranging to two Km, while single-mode versions can reach to twenty Km, or sixty Km (long haul single-mode). Their simple-to-setup and install characteristics, makes it easy to combine the advantages of fiber technology with a RS-232 copper-based network.
Cabling Flexibility – The CSC-2D9-M1/CSC-2D9-M2 and CSC-2D9-S1/CSC-2D9-S2 enables network managers to install fiber cabling anywhere within the existing network environment without requiring removal, replacement or modification of the current copper based RS-232 infrastructure.
