MD215 Mini DV
A powerful but accessible True Widescreen camcorder, the MD215 benefits from a 41x Advanced Zoom and a microphone input connection - capture great audio and video even from a distance.
Advanced Zoom
Canon’s unique Advanced Zoom system combines the quality of genuine Canon optics with powerful DIGIC DV processing to offer longer zoom ranges – with up to 41x magnification even faraway shooting subjects are captured in crisp detail. An Electronic Image Stabilizer (EIS) helps ensure steady footage.
True widescreen
Videos are recorded in stunning, panoramic 16:9 aspect ratio, perfect for displaying on a widescreen TV. To make sure your movies look their best, shots are easily framed using the 2.7" widescreen LCD or the 16:9 wide colour EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) – use the latter on long shooting days to conserve battery power.
Quick Start
From Standby mode, a press of the Quick Start button powers up the MD215 in approximately one second – perfect for capturing sudden events and unexpected moments.
Superior audio
Attaching an external microphone to the MD215 via the microphone input connection is the best way to capture high quality audio. This is a useful feature when shooting in environments when background noise might otherwise interfere with your movie’s soundtrack.
Intuitive control
Located on the frame of the LCD screen, a convenient joystick controller allows simple operation of all key controls. Access more advanced features by navigating menus displayed on the LCD screen.
Lifelike colours
The MD215 benefits from the power of Canon’s unique DIGIC DV processor. Recording colours that are vivid and vibrant, your movies will look just like real life.
LCD video light
Rotate the LCD screen to face forwards and it doubles as a handy video light – providing enough illumination to light up close shooting subjects, even in dim conditions.
Nice and easy
Beginners can take advantage of the camcorder’s one-push Easy mode – setting all of the camcorder’s key features to automatic, it leaves you free to concentrate on framing your shot. As your skills grow, select one of the varied Program AE modes and take more control.
