If you connect the EX-9046 to a controller with eS-ATA II port, then you obtain a data transfer rate up to 3.0Gbps (300MByte/Sec). The EX-9046 support also a USB 2.0 port, so that you can connect the Enclosure also to other computer system without eS-ATA connector.
