If you connect the EX-9047 to a controller with eS-ATA II port, then you obtain a data transfer rate up to 3.0Gbps (300MByte/Sec). The EX-9047 support also a USB 2.0 port, so that you can connect the enclosure to other computer system without eS-ATA ports.
