PRIMERGY BX Fibre Channel Pass Thru 8Gbit/s 18/18 Blade Servers and Fibre Channel SANs build an ideal infrastructure for maximizing the benefits of consolidation and server virtualization. In addition to Fibre Channel switch blades Fujitsu offers a connection blade for direct transmission of sensitive data between servers and storage. Each of the maximum 3 (4) Fibre Channel passthru blades within a BX400 (BX900) blade server enclosure provides secure interconnectivity with up to 8 Gbit/s for up to 18 FC ports. The small pass-thru form factor (single width and height) allows connection of up to 72 FC ports whilst leaving 2 more IO fabrics of the BX system unit usable for additional types of transmission, e. g. for Infiniband. At twice the bandwidth of 4 Gb networks, each Server Blade can host more virtual machines ensuring high performance and availability.
