The Gefen DVI over 1 CAT6 w/ Galvanic Isolator extends a DVI source up to 100 feet (30 meters) using a single CAT-5e cable, and up to 132 feet (40 meters) over a single CAT-6A cable. Resolutions up to 1080p Full HD and 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) are supported. This HDCP-compliant extender is specifically designed for use in mission-critical applications where galvanic isolation up to 5kV and electrical decoupling between the DVI source and the downstream equipment is required to ensure safety. It is compliant with the 3rd Edition of medical equipment safety and EMC standards EN60601-1 and EN60601-1-2. Typical applications include medical imaging systems where certain components of the system (such as endoscopy or laparoscopy cameras) come in direct contact with the patient and the operator.
<b>How it Works</b>
Using the included DVI cable, connect the video source (such as a surgical camera) to the DVI input of the Sender unit. Connect the output of the Receiver unit to the next DVI component in the system such as a video scaler or Hi-Def display. Connect a single CAT-5e or CAT-6A cable up to the maximum recommended length for the cable type between the Sender and the Receiver units. Use the grounding studs on Sender and Receiver to establish independent grounding of connected equipment to the Sender and the Receiver units. Connect the included 5V DC power supplies to the locking connectors on both units, and to available electrical outlets. Power up all connected equipment.
