Series 3. Four-Section aluminium monopod. The Aluminium monopods range has been completely revised and now feature, apart from the tubing, the same features as the top of range 6X carbon fibre monopods, in order to offer lighter, faster and a more stable support. All aluminium models now feature Gitzo's latest aluminium tube, 30% lighter than its predecessor, with Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR), 1.2mm wall thickness and brushed matt black finish for improved locking performance and minimised reflectivity. Thanks to ALR and G-Lock, monopods are are now incredibly fast to operate, providing a stronger locking and an increased rigidity by 20%. The new aluminium monopods come with the exclusive belt clip, that allows you to hang your monopod on belts or pockets. Another plus of the new aluminium monopods is the high quality Power Disc for a more secure locking of the head thanks to the additional locking screw. Removable rubber feet are now self locking to avoid accidental loss. All new monopods come with a convenient Gitzo dispplay cleaner and a anti-dust bag for storage and packing. Monopods are traditionally used at sports events and in situations where space is tight and framing speed is a key factor. The ideal monopod needs to be lightweight, extremely fast to open and close. Thanks to ALR and G-Lock, Gitzo monopods have all these features. All new monopods feature the new Gitzo belt clip. This clip, incorporated in the wrist strap, is a smart carrying solution that allows you to hang your monopod on belts or pockets.
G-lock
G-Lock is the new Gitzo leg locking system. The locking mechanism has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. G-Lock's special design also provides a 'gravity lock' effect: the higher the load applied vertically to the leg, the stronger the lock.
Removable feet
This feature allows you to easily change worn out rubber feet or to fit other accessories, such as spiked feet or snow/sand shoes.
safe lock
Safe Lock is a special techno polymer that maximises locking torque and equipment stabilisation. It is used on the upper discs of tripods and heads, and in applications where the equipment is rotated and screwed onto the support to eliminate micro movements and vibration.
power disc
The new tripod upper disc is called 'Power Disc'. It is made of machined solid aluminum and it now features two locking screws, one to lock the head, the other to safely lock the disc onto the column. The 'Power Disc' gives a rock solid connection of the whole system for additional safety and stability.
ALR
We have introduced a new Anti Leg Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually.
