- Record one TV channel while watching another channel using WinTV-PVR-500’s dual built-in TV tuners. WinTV-PVR-500 MCE has two built-in TV tuners, so you can record two TV channels at the same time. You typically use 1-2 Gigabytes of hard disk per hour of recorded video.
- Record two TV channel’s at once. WinTV-PVR-500 MCE has two built-in hardware MPEG encoders, so you can record two TV channels at once without slowing down your PC. Use Media Center’s TV scheduler to automatically record your favorite TV shows.
- Listen to FM radio with the MyFM button in Media Center.
- Use the included Media Center remote control to control media functions, such as digital picture slide shows, music playlists, etc.
- Use Media Center’s IR transmitter to control the channels on your satellite or cable TV set top box.
WinTV-PVR-500 MCE-Kit is the best way to add dual TV’s to your Windows Media Center Edition PC. Media Center Edition allows you to watch one TV channel while recording another with it’s MyTV button. Technically speaking
WinTV-PVR-500 MCE contains two highly integrated MPEG hardware encoders plus two analogue TV tuners for analogue TV reception. There is also a separate built-in FM radio receiver.
The WinTV-PVR-500 MCE can record to your PC’s hard disk full screen video (full D1) from TV or an external A/V source, at data rates from 2.5M to 8Mbits/sec (Media Center supports 3 standard profiles). The encoded MPEG-2 program stream is sent over the PCI bus, where it is stored on the PCs hard disk. The video can also be played back to the PC screen while recording, so you can pause, rewind and fast forward live TV.
