It features 16 physical SAS/SATA lanes each capable of supporting 12Gb/s or 6 Gb/s SAS or SATA protocol Advanced storage functionality, such as Advanced Data Mirroring, Advanced Data Guarding, dual domain, makes it easier to protect the data.

The HP Smart Array P830 allows you to connect a total of 16 drives spanning two separate drive cages. P830 provides an SSD optimized controller solution that allows customers to attach 16 SSDs for maximum performance. The HP Smart Array P830i delivers an end to end 12 Gb/s SAS solution on the HP ProLiant DL580 Gen8 server. HP SSD Smart Path provides up to 4x better SSD read performance for Microsoft Windows, Linux and VMware.
