The S5700-LI series gigabit enterprise switches (S5700-LI) are next-generation energy-saving switches developed by
Huawei to meet the demand for high-bandwidth access and Ethernet multi-service aggregation. Based on cutting-edge hardware and Huawei Versatile Routing Platform (VRP) software, the S5700-LI provides a large switching
capacity and high-density GE ports. The S5700-LI can be used in various enterprise network scenarios. For example,
it can function as an access or aggregation switch on a campus network, a gigabit access switch in an Internet data
center (IDC), or a desktop switch to provide 1000 Mbit/s access for terminals. The S5700-LI is easy to install and
maintain, reducing workloads for network planning, construction, and maintenance. Featuring advanced reliability,
security, and energy conservation technologies, the S5700-LI helps enterprise customers build next-generation IT
networks.
Innovative Energy Saving Design
The S5700-LI offer customers extensive selection of energy-saving with standard mode, basic mode and advanced mode that accommodates most needs. By matching port link down/up, optical-module in-place/out of place, port shut down/undo shutdown, idle period, busy period to increase the proportion of the dynamic energy-saving to reduce the power consumption.
The S5700-LI innovatively use Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), port energy detection, CPU variable-frequency and device hibernate technology, greatly reducing energy consumption and noise without compromising performance and stability.
Stackable
iStack is a technology that enables multiple devices supporting the stacking feature to function as a logical device. iStack has the following advantages:
1)Protecting investments during network capacity expansion
2)Simplifying configuration and management during capacity expansion: multiple physical switches form a logical switch
3)Improving system reliability by using the redundancy backup mechanism
4)Supporting link aggregation between member switches
5)Providing more ports and higher bandwidth
PoE(Power over Ethernet) function
PoE supplies with different power levels to provide -48 V DC power for powered devices (PDs) such as IP Phones, WLAN APs, and Bluetooth APs.
Dying-gasp
Send warning message to the Network management platform through “Dying gasp” immediately after being power-off.
Network administrators Know clearly about the alert type, thus saving lots of investigation time.
RPS:
Clears the power-off risk when the internal power supply unit of a switch fails.
Provides power backup for a maximum of six network devices, and can take over power supply for one device when its internal power supply unit fails.
Stops power supply when the faulty internal power of the switch recovers.
RPS provides higher system reliability and service avialability.
Powerful surge protection capability
The product uses a Huawei-patented surge protection technique to prevent lightning-induced overvoltage.
All ports on the product have 6 kV of surge protection, making them eight times more lightning-proof than 4 kV switches. The Huawei patented surge protection technique greatly reduces the possibility of equipment being damaged by lightning, even in extreme situations or in scenarios where grounding is not feasible.
