The transfl ective displays technology contains a combination ofboth the conventional backlight transmissive mode as well as re-flective mode characteristics. By using a rear refl ector, sunlight reflections increase the display’s brightness.In case of darker ambient light conditions the backlight ensures the required display brightness. By the use of the ambient light for increasing the brightness, the power consumption of the backlight will be reduced and less heat is generated. This leads to a longer lifetime of the display.
