ServeRAID-8i SAS Controller This Zero Channel RAID (ZCR)controller performs with new Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) RAID technology. It is designed to manage your internal data storage in select xSeries servers. This RAID controller achieves higher reliability and performance than its Ultra320 SCSI predecessors for a nominal increase in price. This half-length adapter runs on a dedicated system's PCI-X, 64-bit ZCR slot at speeds up to 133MHz. With the onboard 256MB memory and 600MHz Intel processor, ServeRAID 8i takes the RAID processing workload from the CPU and offloads it directly to the controller. This allows your CPU ample bandwidth to perform the application processing required.
