The IBM ThinkPad X Series is designed for extremely mobile users who spend most of their time working away from their offices. Select ThinkPad X40 notebook models feature integrated IBM 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless technology, allowing you to connect in any Wi-Fi environment. They also feature the IBM UltraConnect antenna built into the display cover for optimal signal reception. This combined design supports IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g wireless technologies to help maximize coverage and performance. IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore is preloaded on all ThinkPad X40 models and is available for download for other X Series models. Accessed by simply pressing a button, this suite of self-recovery tools is designed to help users diagnose issues, get help, and recover their previously saved data, even if the operating system will not boot. ThinkPad notebooks are the only notebook family with the ThinkLight keyboard light.
