The IBM TotalStorage Storage Switch L10 Switch family of products is designed to help meet the needs of entry-level applications, first-time Storage Area Network users and application-specific deployments. This includes deployments on IBM eServer xSeries solutions such as storage consolidationseveral hosts to one storage system; server clusteringseveral hosts to a few storage systems for high availability; tape library consolidationmany storage arrays to one shared tape library; and streaming rich mediamany workstations to one or a few storage systems. The L10 is designed to provide 10 ports, with industry standards-based 1 or 2Gbps Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop operation. The base switch option comes standard in a 1/2-rack width 1U-high chassis, with four short wave (SW) Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers, single fixed power supply, single fixed fan, serial cable, a quick install guide and xSeries rack-mount suitable power cord. The base switch includes zoning functionality and interswitch trunking support between two L10 storage switch units.
