IBM is announcing additional OEM licenses of Windows products to the IBM Reseller Option Kit (ROK) program for qualifying IBM Distributor participation. This addition to the ROK program authorizes qualifying IBM Distributors to buy IBM OEM licenses of selected operating systems for sale to IBM Business Partners (Resellers) for installation on IBM System x and BladeCenter Servers. IBM OEM licenses are available for the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition English language
- Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Premium Edition English language
- Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition Russian language
- Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Premium Edition Russian language
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition Russian language
- Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003
Distributors can also install the ROK themselves if requested by the Reseller or if they want to act as a Reseller in order to sell IBM System x and BladeCenter Servers installed with the ROK directly to customers. (If a Distributor wants to act as a Reseller they must agree and adhere to all the applicable Reseller ROK licensing terms.) This program delivers one-stop shopping and flexibility to our distributors, allowing them to buy selected operating systems and IBM System x and BladeCenter servers from one source.
These machine type models are not generally available and are not to be published. This PLET is strictly being used to load the systems in the announcing geographies to support logistics required for ordering, fulfillment, and financial reporting of the software machine type models in this announcement. Purchase of these software machine type models requires:
1. IBM System x Geo Channel Executive approval
2. Distributor and/or Reseller ROK Contractual Agreement contained in the System x exhibit
Software machine type models available for the IBM Reseller Option Kit for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 offering are included in this announcement.
<b>Program delivery</b>
The operating systems in this announcement cannot be configured at time of order. Contractually authorized IBM Business Partners (Resellers) that order and take delivery of any of these offerings must ship the operating system preinstalled on an eligible hardware system unit to the end customer. Additionally, the operating systems in this announcement are not eligible for return by the Distributor except under the terms of the IBM ROK Distributor agreement.
