Windows Essential Business Server 2008 Standard Edition (1-4 CPU, 5 CAL) ROK - French
With the Microsoft® announcement of a new family of server solutions—Windows Essential Server Solutions—small and midsized businesses will be able to simplify deployment and management of key server functions. To enable you to have access to reliable, high-performance servers to run these new solutions, IBM intends to support them on selected IBM System x™ rack and tower servers and BladeCenter® blade servers at general availability.
Windows Essential Server Solutions consist of two offerings: Windows Small Business Server 2008 (SBS) and Windows Essential Business Server 2008 (EBS). Built on Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 technology and 64-bit (x64) architecture, both offer the latest Windows technology needed to confidently address your future business needs.
Windows Essential Business Server (EBS) 2008 is a multiserver solution designed for businesses with 300 employees or fewer. It offers an integrated and affordable suite of features midsized businesses require: e-mail, security, systems management and an optional database server—all preconfigured and integrated and manageable from a single administrative console. The solution is available at a significant discount compared to stand-alone products.
The ideal IBM platform for Windows EBS is the IBM BladeCenter S chassis—designed specifically for the midsized customer. The BladeCenter S offers a hardware platform that integrates servers, disk storage, networking and I/O into a single office-ready chassis. It is small enough to fit under your desk, uses standard office power plugs with 110–240V and is extremely quiet and power efficient. In addition to the IBM BladeCenter S, IBM will also offer Microsoft EBS 2008 on selected tower, rack and blade servers.
