The LaCie 12big Rack Serial is perfectly suited for professionals who need a way to expand the storage of their workstation or server. By using a PCI SAS/RAID controller card, you can connect the 12big Rack Serial through a Mini SAS connection to your workstation to instantly receive 6TB, 12TB or 24TB of storage space.
With room enough for up to 60TB of data in an accessible, reliable 12-disk JBOD array, the LaCie 12big Rack Serial is a convenient, robust way for organizations to expand their network’s storage capacity. Best of all, it allows users to create 60 SATA disk arrays by daisy-chaining several LaCie 12big Rack Serials, without incurring any extra costs. All necessary accessories being included in the LaCie 12big Rack Serial box.
The 12big Rack Serial supports SES (SCSI Enclosure Services) 2.0, which allows you to closely monitor the status of your disks and enclosure, so you can work confidently with the knowledge that your 12big is always operating under the best conditions. The SES 2.0 protocol works with you to warn in case of component failure. To ensure the best quality, only Enterprise Class disks are used in the LaCie 12big Rack Serial, meaning that you can fully rely on the system to protect your data. They have been developed with rotational vibration resistance technology, helping them to be even more reliable and robust. 100% of the enclosures and 100% of the disks are tested before being sent.
In addition to the 12 hot-swappable disks and individually tested enclosures, the LaCie 12big Rack Serial’s I/O modules, Mini SAS links, two power supplies, and two cooling units can be replaced on the fly, providing the ultimate in redundancy and security. Within the 12big Rack Serial, there is no single point of failure.
