With the LaCie 4big Quadra Bundle, LaCie has created the ideal configuration for digital content creators to get the fastest and most reliable performance. By including a four-port PCI-Express eSATA card to facilitate attaching two (and up to four) LaCie 4big Quadra together to your computer, the LaCie 4big Quadra Bundle provides a versatile and powerful RAID solution. Two LaCie 4big Quadra working together with the host computer* provide up to 16TB of capacity (8TB each), as well as up to a 400 MB/s burst transfer rate allowing you to work faster than ever before. Each LaCie 4big Quadra can be set up in a hardware RAID 5 mode; and then, the two LaCie 4big Quadra can be combined together in a software RAID 0 mode by the host computer, making the bundle comparable to a 12TB RAID 50 array, allowing for enhanced disk failure protection, greater speed, and capacity. As another alternative configuration, each LaCie 4big Quadra can be mirrored with another one (using Apple Disk Utilities or similar third-party RAID 1 software). Users can create a RAID 1 mirror of RAID 5 towers, which is equivalent to a RAID 51 array—an optimal way to add some extra level of hardware redundancy protection to the LaCie 4big Quadras’ embedded RAID controllers. With unprecedented performance compared to other solutions on the market, the LaCie 4big Quadra Bundle allows you to customize your professional desktop storage according to your priorities: capacity, speed, or hardware redundancy protection.
All LaCie 4big Quadra Bundles come with a LaCie Rescue Kit, which consists of one spare disk drawer (for instant replacement in case of disk failure), as well as a spare power supply.

Each LaCie 4big Quadra comes with Genie Backup Manager Pro™ for Windows® and Intego Backup Manager Pro™ for Mac®, software that help you reliably and efficiently back up your documents, emails, settings, or other digital assets.
