The LevelOne WAC-1000 is a WLAN Controller designed for small-to-medium sized networks such as SMBs, schools, boutique hotels and apartments. The device offers a complete wireless security solution for any mid-range wireless network.
WAC-1000 integrates a wide variety of functions, providing reliable and secure wireless service and centralized management for up to 64 APs through Layer 2 protocols. The controller conveniently allows for integrating an existing wired network with a LevelOne wireless network, making deployments easier and cheaper, and allowing a network to expand without major reinvestment.
The WAC-1000 provides balance and control for all APs in the network, ensuring that the load on each device is distributed evenly across the entire network, to avoid bottlenecks and sustain peak performance in areas of heavy traffic. It also allows the user to manually control and collate data transmitted through each AP, providing greater network visibility. Different SSIDs for each region allows for greater network security, and also has the ability to recognise illegal APs on the wireless network.
The LevelOne WAC-1000 also supports real-time control of access point RF scanning to test signal strength and interference. According to the signal testing results, WAC-1000 will adjust the traffic loading, output power, RF coverage and channel distribution to optimize wireless coverage and throughput.
WAC-1000 offers a user-friendly Web GUI for easy configuration. Through this interface, the user can set up the AP’s configuration, upgrade the AP’s firmware and get notifications on the AP On/Off, AP Client On/Off and AP overloading alerts.
