The SLR140 integrates seamlessly into the SLR drive generation and creates new perspectives when it comes to capacity, transfer rate and migration options. The SLR drive saves up to 140 GB of compressed data on a data cartridge with a speed of 43 GB per hour. As a result of the varied safety features that are designed in and based on software, such as Reed Solomon Error Correction Code (ECC) Level 10, Tape Alert and the new media management function, the Tandberg SLR140 is extremely reliable. A further highlight of the Tandberg SLR140 is the auto-sense function. This feature automatically selects the ideal tape speed for the relevant data transfer rate from the host computer. An additional advantage of this function is improving the start-stop mode. In order to avoid unnecessary tape stopping and starting the data transfer rate is continuously checked even for low transfer speeds.
