Complete solution for everyone with a broadband multimedia PC.
The PCzapperTM Manager software works as a kind of shell around your operating system (Windows® 2000 / XP / XP MCE). The software ensures connection between your personal computer (PC) and the TV via remote control, and generates the TV portal menu. During installation, the software automatically recognises all the media files on your PC and adds these to the TV portal. The software also supports security options and payment for films. PCzapperTM Media Manager is not itself a media player but can enhance Windows® Media Player and Cyberlink PowerDVD or InterVideo WinDVD®.
How it works
PCzapperTM Media Manager turns the computer into a powerfull set top box for the television set. The PC can be operated remotely and can easily stay in another room. There is no need to carry your PC into the living room. To enjoy the benefits of PCzapper on your television screen, the pc must be turned on.
Clone View / Dual View
In de clone view mode, the PC gives the same view as the TV. In dual view mode, you can keep working as usual on the PC while it generates a TV Portal image in the background. With dual view, you get the most from your PC, and when you are working online, you also get the most out of your broadband connection.
Image Quality
PCzapperTM Media Manager generates a video signal of 800*600 which guarantees excellent image quality on the TV, even with a relatively low bandwidth and low quality encryption. Plus, the viewing distance and use of interlinie often vastly improve poor quality images from the PC when they’re viewed on the TV.
PCzapperTM Media Manager and Microsoft® Windows XP Media Center Edition
Where Microsoft Media Center brings the TV and video recorder to the PC, PCzapper.TV brings the PC to the TV.
A Media Center PC includes by definition a TV tuner card and a hard disk recorder. PCzapper.TV, in turn, makes it possible to watch your recorded television series on a regular television set, without having to put a computer in the living room.
Therefore PCzapperTM Media Manager and Microsoft® Windows XP Media Center Edition are not alternatives for each other. PCzapper.TV is, however, an alternative to getting a second computer.
The connection between the PC and TV is made with a special thin, high-quality video multi-cable. The cable is 15 metres long, or 25 for the XL version. This cable is not available in stores and can only be obtained as part of the PCzapper Basic package.
With the infrared remote control, you can operate the PC and see the results immediately on the TV.
Navigating through the menu is simple using the OK and arrow buttons.
With the alpha numeric keys you can type a word or number on your TV screen. That’s handy if you want to order a film or search for a video.
In the future, you’ll also be able to use this remote for interactive TV games or for teletext-like applications.
You can use the menu button to adjust the settings for PCzapper.TV right on your TV screen. For example, you can give it a different background, or make the menu bar disappear.
You can also use the remote for all kinds of things such as zooming in and out while looking at photos, or adding favorite songs to your MP3 list.
With the PC/TV button, you can switch directly between your PC and the TV.
It’s a world at your fingertips
The signal receiver from the remote controle sits on the TV. In other words, you operate the PC the same way you operate your TV, by pointing the remote control at the TV. On the computer, this operation runs through the serial port. If the serial port is occupied, then you will first have to remove the competing application. Pczapper Basic doesn’t work with a serial to USB converter. For a laptop you may be able to use a PCMCIA to serial converter.
With the PCzapper TV Portal remote control you can navigate quickly and easily through all your digital media files, both locally and through internet.
