Souverän M405, 12.5 cm, 15.3 g, M
In the year 1929 Pelikan was the first company in the world to introduce the differentiated piston mechanism. This technique causes the spindle inside the fountain pen to turn quicker than the end piece of the barrel, with the help of two different threads. To this date, this fountain pen exists in many different variations, and though it has been developed in design and technical details over time, the basic mechanism remains the same.
A black and silver version was launched in 2002, in the style of the black model of the 1980's. With the body also made of high-grade resin, it consists of a transparent green view window, too. However, instead of the gold plating, a palladium plating give this Souverän pen in black and silver its characteristic, unique splendor.
After the tremendous success of the elegant Souverän series 405 and 805 in black-silver, Pelikan has also launched the popular size 605 as a special edition. The models of the this special edition – fountain pens (nib widths EF, F, M and B), twist mechanism ballpoint pens and roller balls – are real collectibles and only available for a limited time.
