LC-52SE94U, 132.08 cm (52 ") , 1920x1080, ATSC/NTSC, 15Wx2, D-sub/AV/Component/HDMI&HDCP, RS-232C, 302 W
Sharp's "Special Edition" flagship HDTVs are their most advanced LCD televisions yet. Compared to last year's top model, the Sharp LC-52SE94U delivers better picture contrast and black level in real-world viewing situations. You'll also find more advanced audio/video connections, and more of them.
A crystal-clear 1080p picture
On 50" and larger TVs, it's easy to see the added detail and sharpness that 1080p screens provide — 1080p has more than twice as many pixels as 720p screens. The LC-52SE94U's 1080p resolution is actually higher than that of any broadcast HDTV programs, so the signal never has to be "downconverted" or reduced in quality.
Sharp's refined anti-blur technology
Natural, fluid motion has been a challenge for LCD screens, but Sharp has a handle on it for 2008. The LC-52SE94U has one of the industry's quickest "pixel response times," to reduce motion lag — and that's only the beginning. Sharp was the first TV maker to introduce 120Hz video processing, and they've refined that technology to make fast-moving objects on screen look even smoother and clearer. The TV can display 120 frames of video per second instead of the standard 60 frames. This higher frame rate benefits fast-action material the most, like sports and video games.
Plenty of future-ready connections
The LC-52SE94U includes several HD-compatible inputs that accept 1080p signals, including three HDMI and two component video. To see the finest picture this TV can deliver, connect a Blu-ray high-def disc player that outputs 1080p video. Also, see if you can pull in some local HDTV programs — this set has built-in tuners for both digital and analog over-the-air broadcasts.
A standard PC input allows you to use this TV as a jumbo-sized monitor. Plus, if you have broadband service in your home you can use the LC-52SE94U to directly access the Internet. There's an Ethernet port on the TV's back panel that you connect to your DSL or cable modem (or router). Sharp has set up a special home page specifically for AQUOS TV owners. You'll find useful information like setup tips and FAQs. Note: This feature is for viewing online content only; you can't download files using this TV.
