14 Mbps Homeplug Starter Kit The SMCHPKIT-ETH is a 14 Mbps Powerline-to-Ethernet Starter Kit that has everything you need to add Powerline technology to create or extend a network without having to run expensive Category 5 cabling. The SMCHPKIT-ETH includes two Powerline-to-Ethernet Desktop adapters in a single pack. Both adapters are based on HomePlug 1.0 standard to ensure compatibility with various types of home wiring. Using auto-sensing and rate-adaptive technology, the Powerline-to- Ethernet adapter maintains the best connection available. Data transfer speeds to 14 Mbps make the SMCHPKIT-ETH faster than 802.11b wireless and easier to install and troubleshoot. The SMCHP1D-ETH comes with the EZ Configuration Manger utility, the only Powerline management software that runs on both the PC and Mac platforms. For additional status information, the SMCHP1D-ETH has easy-to-read diagnostic LEDs that show whether a Powerline network is available as soon as it is plugged into the power outlet.
