This is the slimmest CLIÉ equipped with a 480 x 320 pixel LCD. Its transparent, detachable cover of scratch-resistant 5H-hard acrylic protects the screen without detracting from operational ease - every operation except stylus input can be accomplished with the cover on, thanks to the Jog Dial navigator on the upper backside with left and right keys and a back button. These controls make it easy to access your schedule and enjoy Net surfing. A durable mat, executive black finish contributes to durability, while the LCD screen is accented by a handsome aluminium frame. The photos you take are stored as thumbnails for quick access and can easily be dragged and dropped into CLIÉ Organizer applications to complement text based information. Just tap on thumbnails twice to fill the screen. Or view your photos in CLIÉ Viewer. You can even attach photos to email and send them to friends thanks to built-in Wireless LAN 802.11b

Or select the standard sensitivity recording mode when holding the microphone near your mouth for memos. Recorded sound can be pasted to Date Book and Free Notes of CLIÉ Organizer as well. It also can be used as an alarm, or even sent to your friends by email. File management on your PC is a breeze, too, because sound is recorded as WAV files. You can record voice memos as long as space on your Memory Stick® media allows .
CLIÉ TH55 features a Mobile Movie function that lets you enjoy QuickTime movies wherever you are. Using bundled Image Converter software, you can convert video files on your PC to QuickTime files too. Movie Player also plays MPEG movies recorded with your Handycam or Cyber-shot directly from Memory Stick. What's more, those movie files can be pasted to Date Book and Free Notes in CLIÉ Organizer. Just tap them twice to play. Data synchronisation with PCs and notebooks is carried out using the HotSync application and either a USB cable or wireless communications.
Sony MRX WEGA Series televisions are compatible with Mobile Movie application. CLIÉ models that are compatible with Mobile Movie for playback: PEG-UX50, NX73V, TG50, NZ90, NX70V, TH55.
