OEM CDRom 52xspd ATAPI internal Sony co-developed the CDROM storage format and with this expertise and experience driving us Sony presents the CDU5211. This drive has a 52x read speed capability, the highest read-speed available in the industry and is compatible with a broad range of CD formats and CD-reading software.

The CDU5211 boasts a Turbo Boost safety feature. Turbo Boost by Sony is designed for drive protection against poor quality media by offering the user the choice of drive speed above the 40x threshold. There is an acknowledgement within this industry that the use of some poor quality or badly damaged media, eg: cracked or deeply scratched discs, could lead to such media breaking within the drive when operated above 40x and damaging the drive.
Although Sony does not recommend the use of such media, the Turbo Boost feature offers a safe guard if such media is used whilst providing the user the freedom of choice.
