For 802.11b compatibility, 802.11g incorporates 802.11b’s Complementary Code Keying (CCK) to achieve bit transfer rates up to 5.5 Mbps and 11Mbps in the frequency band of 2.4GHz. In addition, 802.11g adopts 802.11a’s Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and speeds up its data rate up to 54Mbps.
