HDMI Video Extender over Cat 5 This Cat 5 HDMI transmitter can be used with StarTech.com's HDMI over Cat 5 / UTP Extender Receiver (ST121HDMR50) or HDMI over Cat 5 / UTP Long Range Extender Receiver (ST121HDMR250) to deliver a high quality solution for extending HDMI video over Cat 5 cable at distances of up to 50m (165ft) or 250m (800ft), while maintaining high definition resolutions of up to 1080p.

Several factors determine the maximum HDMI cable distance that can be used to properly transmit an HDMI signal. This Cat 5 HDMI Transmitter overcomes length limitations to provide a cost-effective solution for high definition content delivery in digital signage applications (retail, education, hospitality).

The transmitter can also be installed as a DVI-D video extender, when used with one of our HDMI to DVI cables - a cost-effective 2-in-1 solution that provides the option of extending either DVI-D or HDMI video signals.

Installation is simple: connect the transmitter unit to the HDMI/DVI signal source and situate the Cat 5 HDMI receiver up to 50m (164ft) or 250m (800ft) away. Then, connect the units using standard CAT 5 UTP cable.
