Sun GigaSwift Ethernet Adapters provide the unshielded twisted pair (UTP) or MMF fiber media interface that helps Sun servers take full advantage of Gigabit Ethernet. These two adapters are a low-cost, single-port PCI solution that delivers an order of magnitude boost in transmission speed over Fast Ethernet. They also increase server efficiency by reducing CPU processing loads.

Sun Trunking gets you there faster
These adapters also offer the flexibility of Sun Trunking support. Sun Trunking software is designed to aggregate up to sixteen Sun Gigabit Ethernet adapter card ports into a single virtual link or trunk. The resulting aggregated "fat pipe" instantly increases your bandwidth and availability for higher data transfer rates than any single Sun Gigabit Ethernet adapter card link.

A VLAN is a collection of network nodes that share the same broadcast domain regardless of their physical location or connection point in the network. VLANs also allow a single physical LAN to be divided into multiple logical LANS.
