The Tandberg Data DPS2142 is a flexible, high performance, affordable disk system that provides simple file sharing, consolidated iSCSI storage and data protection for SMBs in a compact, 1U rackmount unit. The DPS2142 installs quickly and provides cross-platform network storage for safe, effective storing, sharing and protecting of business-critical data for small to medium businesses, departments and distributed enterprises.
Flexible Storage Management
The Tandberg Data DPS2142 provides users with the ability to extend storage and share data on a single cost-effective platform. Because of its versatility, the DPS2142 can be configured as a file server or an iSCSI target server providing simultaneous file-level access and block-level storage for maximum disk utilization. File-level volumes can be used for file sharing, D2D backup and IP video capture.
Sharing your files has never been easier because the DPS2142 provides the ideal platform for simple consolidated business-grade file sharing across Windows, Macintosh or Unix/Linux systems. Manage user quotas, accounts and groups via the integrated web console or through simple active directory integration for maximum security.
The DPS2142 provides a simple and flexible way to add storage to a server. Each DPS2142 can create up to 8 unique iSCSI targets allowing users to extend local server storage without system disruption.
Business-Use Design
The advanced RAID configuration of the DPS2142 allows users to increase capacity through physical HDD migration. During the HDD swap, all data residing on the legacy hard drives is seamlessly migrated to the newly installed drives without server downtime. In addition, the virtual appliance stacking feature enables multiple DPS2140 units to be stacked for increased volume.
The DPS2142 features smart power management such as hard disk standby, scheduled power on/of and auto power on after power loss. The redundant power supplies ensure high availability.
Dual Gigabit LAN
The dual LAN ports can be configured as failover which allows the NAS server to sustain the failure of one network port to provide continuous services. The two LAN ports of the NAS can also be configured in load balancing mode for bandwidth aggregation to boost the file transfer speed. Finally, the DPS2142 can be deployed with two IP settings for sharing among different workgroups in two different subnets.
