Thermalright Macho X2 Processor Cooler

The design of the heat sink, which has been optimized for silent operation, is based on year-long experience and extensive development by our engineers. A variety of copies, which are now offered under different brand names, proofs the ingenuity of our design.

With the Macho X2 Thermalright now offers a special edition of the award-winning Macho Rev. B that is ultra-silent and powerful at the same time. The Macho X2 comes with two silent running TY 142 fans. The use of two fans guarantees highest performance at lowest noise.

The Macho X2 offers the significantly enlarged, nickel-plated and highly polished base (53 x 40 mm), just like the Macho Rev. B. Thus, the Macho X2 is perfectly suited to work with the current Intel Core i7 high-performance CPUs with up to 8 cores.

The silent optimized cooler offers superior cooling performance with no frills at a very attractive price. In this price range, users will be hard-pressed to find a better overall package based on outstanding cooling performance at the lowest possible noise levels: in short – more cooler needs no one!

One of the main features of the Macho X2 are the inluded fans. The specially designed TY 142 fans with their double-ball bearing runs at a constant 800 rpm, which results in a noise level of just 15 dB(A). The fans are held entirely in black and have 3-pin Molex connectors. A Y-cable is included to connect both fans to a single port.

In terms of the design the Macho X2 is oviously part of its family: The copper heat pipes are nickel plated and offer in combination with the black anodized top fin a probably unique elegant appearance.

The original conception of the Macho has been maintained: The heat sink is aligned to the rear of the PC case in order to prevent incompatibilities when using ram modules with high-rising heat spreaders. The aluminum cooling fins are perforated by a plurality of air holes, which counteract air accumulation between the cooling fins.

The special design of the heatsink’s aluminum fins allows for a particularly low air resistance. The oval air duct in the middle of the cooler provides controlled air turbulence within the heat sink, whereby the heat can be dissipated more effectively.

As with all our high performance coolers the Macho X2 makes use of the well-proven heat pipe technology. A total of six high-performance 6 mm heatpipes provide the most efficient dissipation of the generated processor heat. The heatpipes are tightly integrated into the nickel-plated copper base plate, which guarantees the most effective heat dissipation.

The TY 142 fans with their unique design come with the mounting holes a conventional 120 mm fans and at the same time offer a larger inner diameter than usual 140 mm fans. One of the main features is the extra-long life expectancy of the bearing (double-ball) in combination with the extremely low noise of just 15 dB(A), which was also implemented by an independent wing design.

A universal mounting kit is included with the Macho X2 that supports all current Intel- and AMD sockets (Intel LGA775/1366/1156/1155/2011/1150/2011-3/1151* und AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/FM1/FM2/FM2+).

Also included in the package is our Thermalright Screwdriver. With this extra-long screwdriver, which has a magnetic tip, it is very easy to install the cooler, even if the motherboard has already been mounted in the case (given that an appropriate mounting hole for the installation of the back plate is available in the motherboard tray). The installation is easy and self-explaining. An illustrated manual (English and German) is included. The equipment is completed by the excellent Thermalright Chill Factor thermal paste (syringe).
