By purchasing the PCI Ethernet Card 100 Mb you have acquired an advanced
product that will enable you to optimize the speed of your network.
The PCI Ethernet Card 100 Mb is compatible with both the traditional 10 Mbps
networks and the fast 100 Mbps networks. The correct speed is set automatically, so
you can gradually upgrade the network to 100 Mbps operation if you wish.
The PCI Ethernet Card 100 Mb can simultaneously send and receive data (full
duplex) via compatible networks. This function is also set automatically if this option
is supported by the network.
The PCI Ethernet Card 100 Mb is to be used exclusively for linking a computer to an
Ethernet type LAN via UTP or STP connections of up to 100 metres in an office
environment.
You can use the PCI Ethernet Card 100 Mb if you have:
- an IBM compatible computer with a free PCI slot and at least one other computer fitted with a network card, to which the first computer can be connected;
- an operating system suitable for use in a network environment. See the specifications in Appendix A for a list of compatible operating systems.
