The 3Com® Single-Port IEEE 802.3af Gigabit PoE Midspan Solution provides power over standard Category 5 or 5e Ethernet cabling to IEEE 802.3af-compliant devices that require Gigabit connections; for example, 3Com 11n access points (models 3CRWE955075, 3CRWE915075, 3CRWX395075A) and certain IP phones and security cameras.

This inline power source installs right in the switch closet, eliminating an exposed power supply and extra wiring at the workspace, and saving time and money because it's less vulnerable to damage or tampering than a local power supply. Diagnostic LEDs confirm proper operation and facilitate troubleshooting.
