Switch S7906E Chassis Kit - Modern Multilayer Switching Solution The 3Com® Switch S7906E Chassis Kit is a medium-size chassis in the Switch S7900E family and will support up to 16 10-Gigabit ports or 288 Gigabit and Fast Ethernet ports.

This kit includes the chassis and fan assembly; switch fabrics, power supplies and I/O modules are ordered separately. At least one fabric and one power supply are required for operation.

The 3Com Switch S7900E family is the next generation of modern multilayer switches that meets the evolving needs of integrated service networks.

The Switch S7900E can be deployed in multiple network environments, such as the Enterprise LAN core, aggregation and wiring closet edge, as well as the convergence and edge of Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs).

This high-end modular chassis switch has a high-speed passive backplane, supports load sharing and redundant management and fabrics for high availability, and delivers wirespeed transfers at Layers 2 and 3 for IPv4 and IPv6.
