Designed for accommodating any standard 2.5" SATA or SATA II hard drive, the Ruby ExDrive provides data transfer rate up to 12 times the maximum throughput of any USB 2.0 drive enclosure. When connected via eSATA interface, drives contained inside the durable and heat resistant Ruby enclosure is even capable of booting Operating Systems through an eSATA port on a motherboard or add-in card.

The Ruby drive enclosure, small enough to fit easily in the palm of your hand, is designed to to protect your hard drive against rough handling and vibration with a light weight cast aluminum housing and patented shock proof material to sustain up to a 3 foot drop. The Ruby drive enclosure comes with the Addonics SATA direct interface design that provides an eSATA connector for high speed eSATA interface, as well as an additional SATA connector on the back. This SATA connector allows the Ruby drive enclosure to be used as a removable drive cartridge via an optional Ruby drive cradle installed inside a 3.5" drive bay of any computer.
