Alessandro M., designed by Alessandro Mendini, is an object-creature for the table which is dressed every year a new and produced in limited editions. Alessandro M., to mark the occasion of the 2012 Olympics and the Queen’s Jubilee, has been transformed into a Queen’s Guard, one of the most famous British icons in the world. The attention to detail was focused on the implementation of the bearskin that can be taken off - it is attached with a rubber band - and has been made from very fine synthetic hair, easily tossed about in the breeze, just like the real ones. As with all the previous versions, the corkscrew’s body is hand painted.
