Overview
- The ATTO FastStream VT 5700 appliance is a high -performance, standalone virtual tape appliance that offers parity protected backups paired with simple setup, management and expandability for future growth. As the amount of data to be backed up multiplies, typical backup scenarios become increasingly expensive and companies need to evaluate options using the existing infrastructure.
- Unlike any other virtual tape product on the market today, the FastStream VT 5700 allows you to use existing storage, JBOD or RAID arrays, to create virtual tape libraries. Also, FastStream VT can be seamlessly integrated into existing backup environments to fully emulate existing tape libraries. This allows for blazing-fast, error-free backup and restores of all critical data.
- As data increases exponentially, backup time increases while backup windows shrink. By using a FastStream Virtual Tape appliance you never need to miss a backup window again. The FastStream VT was specifically designed to perform concurrent backups to disk-based virtual tape. A single FastStream VT 5700 can backup and restore up to 60 concurrent streams of data allowing multiple server backups. ATTO’s exclusive Advanced VTL Capacity Expansion (AVCE) technology allows you to add virtual tapes as needed.
- Offering the latest performance I/O with two 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel host interface ports and two 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel drive interfaces, and designed in a slim 1U 19” rack form factor, FastStream VT 5700 enables direct attached Fibre Channel storage to act as a conventional tape library.
